How to Reheat Leftover Steak Without Cooking It Twice

Half a ₱1,599 ribeye left in the fridge is not a lost cause. The mistake is treating reheating like cooking, when the job is only to warm the middle back and put the crust back on.

How to reheat leftover steak, in one line: bring it back slowly at 120°C until the centre reads about 43°C, then finish it with a 30-second sear in a dry, very hot pan. The mistake nearly everyone makes is treating reheating like cooking, blasting it on high heat and taking a medium-rare steak to well-done in about ninety seconds. Low heat first, hard heat last, and day-two leftovers from a ₱1,599 Classic Gold Ribeye eat almost as well as the first night. Prices verified September 2026.

How to Reheat Leftover Steak, Method by Method

Take the steak out of the fridge about 20 minutes early and leave it whole. Slicing first multiplies the surface area you are about to dry out, so carve after reheating, never before.

  • Oven: 120°C, steak on a rack over a tray, 15 to 20 minutes for a half-inch slice. The most even method and the most forgiving.
  • Covered pan, no oven: a splash of water or stock in a pan with a lid on the lowest flame, 4 to 5 minutes, turning once. The steam does the warming.
  • The finish, either way: dry the surface with paper towels, then 30 seconds a side in a dry pan on maximum heat. That is what puts the crust back.

Skip the rest at the end. The steak already rested the first time, and 30 seconds a side is too short to need another five minutes.

Can You Reheat Steak in an Air Fryer?

An air fryer reheats steak well, and it is the quickest of the good methods. Set it to 150°C and give a half-inch slice 3 to 4 minutes, turning once at the halfway mark. Moving air warms the outside faster than an oven does, so check early rather than late.

The limit is the one an air fryer always has: it browns gently instead of hard, so it will not rebuild a real crust on its own. Finish in a pan if the crust matters to you. What an air fryer does well with steak covers the same trade-off from the cooking side.

How Do You Reheat Wagyu Cubes?

Wagyu cubes reheat faster than anything else we sell, and they overcook just as fast. Warm a dry pan on medium, add the cubes for 60 to 90 seconds in total, and shake the pan rather than turning them one by one. A 500g Foodlabo Saikoro pack at ₱689 runs 30 to 35 cubes, so leftovers are common.

Cubes carry plenty of rendered fat, so they reheat in their own tallow with nothing added. Do not use the oven for them: by the time an oven at 120°C has warmed a cube through, the outside is past where you want it. Cold, sliced over rice with a spoon of Special Homemade Wagyu Sauce (₱89), is also a perfectly good answer. Add garlic rice and a fried egg and the leftovers become steak silog for the next morning's breakfast.

Can You Reheat Steak in a Microwave?

A microwave is the worst tool for reheating steak, though it is not useless. It heats the water inside the meat fast and unevenly, which squeezes out juice and leaves the edges grey and rubbery. If it is all you have, use 40 percent power in 30-second bursts, turning between each, and stop while the centre is still cool.

Then give it 30 seconds a side in a hot dry pan. The microwave does the warming, the pan does the repair. Used on its own, at full power, it is the method responsible for leftover steak's bad reputation.

How Long Does Cooked Steak Last in the Fridge?

Cooked steak keeps 3 to 4 days in a fridge set to 4°C or below, sealed in a container, and it should go in within two hours of coming off the pan. Cooked beef freezes for 2 to 3 months too, though the texture after thawing suits salpicao or a rice bowl better than a plate on its own.

Raw packs follow different numbers entirely. How to store steak after delivery has the fridge and freezer windows per grade, plus when refreezing is fine.

We deliver cold to Dasmariñas, Imus, General Trias and Carmona with no minimum order, so steak delivery in Dasmariñas can be one pack rather than a stock-up.

A pour of Beef & Herb Gravy Mix (₱59) over a reheated slice covers a lot of sins. Build a basket and message us on Messenger when the fridge is empty again.
